Monique Aucoin is a naturopathic doctor and researcher. She provides naturopathic services at the IHC with a focus on mental health, stress management, autoimmune disease and teen health.
Monique graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) and has additional training in mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy and mind-body medicine. She is passionate about helping individuals improve their mental health by restoring balance to the body and mind.
Naturopathic medicine is based on an awareness that the body is designed to repair and restore balance if provided the right conditions. Monique uses a variety of natural tools including clinical nutrition, supplementation, herbal medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture and counseling to help patients restore balance.
In addition to her clinical practice, Monique is a research fellow at CCNM were she works to understand how naturopathic doctors can provide the safest and most effective patient care. She has published research in a number of academic journals and presented her research at conferences throughout Canada and the United States.
Monique is passionate about interprofessional collaboration and has presented to psychiatrists about integrative approaches to mental health at the Canadian Psychiatry Association Conference and North York General Hospital Mental Health Grand Rounds.
